Robert of Hingham was styled a Gentleman. His wife was executrix of his will proved 10 July, 1547. They had a son Robert under 18 in 1547.
The Will of Robert Cushing of Hardingham 1547
Made 2nd April 1547. Robert Cusshinge of Hardingham he asked to be buried in the churchyard at Hardingham. He leaves to the High Altar 6d which his owes in forgotten tithes and also 6d for church repairs. He leaves his house and land to his wife Joan for the rest of her life and after her death to his son Robert. He left Robert £10, a brass pot and a cauldron to be paid upon reaching the age of 18 years at a rate of 40 s a year until the sum of £10 is reached. If he dies before he reaches that age then those things are to go to his wife. He leaves £3 to be distributed to his neighbours and the poor for the health of his soul at the day of his burial, on the 7th day and on the 30th day. He leaves 12 d to every one of his god children. He leave 20d to John Cate the Younger. Everything else he has he leaves to his wife Joan who he makes executrix of the will with Thomas Cusshinge as supervisor and he is to have 20s for his pains. The will was witnesses by John Megelaye Curate. John and Thomas Busse and others. Will was proved 10th July 1547
