Derek Cork notes: Notes for Alice Brown: General Notes: Abstract Will : Ales Cushinge of Hardingham, Norfolk , Widow. ( ANF1614 ). Dated 24th April 1614. To my son Stephen - the tenement where I dwell, with all the landsbelonging to it & all appurttenances, on condition that he allows his sister Rachell tooccupy all those houses & rooms, which Mary Coe now inhabits, for the term of her life. To the said Rachell - 20s pa for life, payable by my son Stephen. To my daughter Rachell - my bed & bedstead, one bolster, the biggestpillows, 2 little tables in the hall, one sheet, the biggest kettle except one & another littlekettle, a skillet, a brass pot & half my pewter, my chest standing beside my bed's head, one chair, carpet,cushion & hakes. To Ales Godfrye - a pewter platter. To my son in law Nicholas Cushinge - a pewter platter. To George the son of my son in law Edward - a pewter platter. To my daughter Rachell - my brass candlestick, my great washing bowl,a pail, a keeler, a kilderken, my rostiron & the morter. Son Stephen appointed as executor. Residue of all personal estate, Richard Thwaytes of Hardinghamgentleman appointed as superviser - 10s for his trouble. Witnesses : Nicholas Godfrye, John Cushinge & ( omitted ) Cushinge&Gilbert Randall, into whose hands Ales surrendered all her houses & lands to the use of her saidwill & testament, in the presence of Walter Barraclowe & Roberte Cusshinge, being all threebond tenants to the manor of Flokthorppe in Hardingham. Proved at Wymondham 3rd June 1614.
