The King's Daughters of the King (filles du roi or filles du roy in the spelling of the era) is a term used to refer to the approximately 800 young French women from Paris who immigrated to New France between 1663 and 1673 as part of a program sponsored by King Louis XIV, ensuring the survival of the French colony.
Born circa 1641. Arrived Canada 1668 with goods at around 300 pounds. Marriage contract canceled with El VOISIN 10-1668, Buried on 28-02-1709 in Neuville. Didn't know how to sign her name at her 1st marriage which took place in 16-10-1668 in Quebec, to René MEUNIER dit Laramie (inhabitant), born around 1636, buried on 22-08-1702, also not knowing how to sign his name on 14-10-1668 (Lecomte). Household established at Neuville. 2nd marriage no child.

Marguerite Charpentier was bom about 1641 in the parish of Saint-Nicolas in Meaux, Brie (Champagne), the daughter of François Charpentier and Françoise Germain. After her father’s death, Marguerite left for Canada in 1668, bringing with her a dowry of goods worth an estimated 300 livres. On 01 October 1668, notary Gilles Rageot drew up a marriage contract between Marguerite and Élie Voisin, but it was annulled within a week and on 15 October Élie married Fille du Roi Madeleine Larcher. On 16 October, Marguerite married René Meunier dit Laramée in Québec City. Neither spouse could sign the marriage contract drawn up 14 October by notary Lecomte. René was born about 1636 in Saint-lean de Boupère (arrondissement of Fontenay-le-Comte, diocese of Luçon), Poitou, the son of Jean Meunier and Perinne La Caillerot and was confirmed 24 August 1664 at Quebec City. He and Marguerite settled at Neuville and had two children. Perrette was baptized 16 January 1670 at Québec City, followed by Philippe on 14 April 1671. René Meunier dit Laramée was buried at Neuville 22 September 1702. On 2J January I705, Marguerite married Jean Fanie in Neuville. Jean is the son of Thomas Fanie and Marguerite Soubrite from Saint-Jean- d’Angély (diocese of Saintes), Saintonge. He and Marguerite continued to live at Neuville, but did not have any children before Marguerite Charpentier was buried 28 February 1709 in Neuville.
