Thomas was buried at Brandon Parva from Barnham Broom, Norfolk The will of Thomas Pile mention's the following; Property in Brandon Parva, Norfolk Thomas Pile eldest son Benjamin Pile, son Daughter Ann wife of Robert Freeman Daughter Elizabeth wife of John Clarke Daughter Ruth wife of Samuel Bell Daughter Martha wife of John Coxton Daughter Diana Pile William Pile son Grandaughters Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Anne daughters of Robert Canham In All Saints, Brandon Parva, rather overgrown church yard to to theright of the front porch there are two very weathered and Ivy covered grave stones. One has Mary thewife of Thomas Pile died June 2?, 1776 on it, the other next to it can just bemade out Thomas Pile died aged 92 years ???? 1792 This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Pile of Barnham Broomin the County of Norfolk - Worsted Weaver (as follows) first I give and devise unto BenjaminPile my son and his heirs All and Every my Messauges, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments whateverbe the same Freehold , Copyhold or of any other nature or Tenure whatever situatelying and being in Little Brandon in the said County or in any other Town, Parish or Placethereunto near or adjoining with their and every of their rights Members and Appurtenances (excepteight acres and one rood or thereabouts of land lying in Little Brandon aforesaid called and knownby the name of Peas Acres) or by whatever name or names the same have been or now wascalled or known to which Thomas Pile my oldest son will be entitled on my decease under and byvirtue of the Settlement made on my marriage with Mary my late deceased wife. To hold the sameand every part thereof with their and every of their Rights, Members privileges andAppurtenances unto the said Benjamin Pile my son his heirs, assigns for ever. And I do herebyexpressly declare that the said Messauges, Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments and Premises whereinbefore given and devised to the said Benjamin Pile my son his heirs and assigns are byme given and devised to him and them upon the following condition that is to say uponcondition that he the said Benjamin Pile my son and his heirs shall and do well and truly pay or cause tobe paid the severl legacies of sums of money hereinafter by me given and bequeathed that is to sayI give and bequeath to my daughter Ann the wife of Robert Freeman the sum of twenty fivepounds of lawful money of Great Britain . Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth thewife of John Clarke the like sum twenty five pounds, also I give and bequeath to my daughter Ruththe wife of Samuel Bell the like sum of twenty five pounds, also I give and bequeath to mydaughter Martha the wife of John Coxton the sum of twenty five pounds, also I give and bequeath to mydaughter Diana Pile the like sum of twenty five pounds also I give and bequeath to my son WilliamPile the sum of five pounds of like money, all which said several legacies and sums of moneyherein before by me given and bequeathed. And my Will and Mind further is that the said several legacies or sums of money hereby byme expressly given and bequeathed or concocted to be paid to the said Ann the wife of RobertFreeman, Elizabeth the wife of John Clarke, Ruth the wife of Samuel Bell, and Martha the wifeof John Coxton shall be paid into the proper hands of those the said Ann, Elizabeth, Ruth andMartha to and for their own sole and separate uses respectfully exclusive of all my power orcontrol and not subject or liable to any Acts, Debts or Deeds of their several present or after andtaken husband or husbands and that the receipt and receipts of the said Ann, Elizabeth, Ruth andMartha for their said several legacies or sums of money or any part of them or any of them undertheir own respective hands only notwithstanding their ??? shall from ? to him be good andsufficient Discharge and Discharges to the person or persons paying the same for so much moneyfor which such receipt or receipts shall be given. Also my Will and Mind further is that incase of default shall happen to be made in payment of the said several legacies or sums of moneyherein before by me given and bequeathed contrary to the true intent and meaning of this my Willthan it shall be lawful for my said daughters and son and any of them their and each and every oftheir assigns respectfully to enter into and upon the said premises herein before by me given anddevised to the said Benjamin Pile and his heirs or any part thereof and to have and tohold the same and the rents, issues and profits thereof to receive and take to their and each andevery of their own or respective use and uses until thereby and recount they my saiddaughters and son shall be respectively fully paid and satisfied their said several legacies orsums of money herein before me given and bequeathed or directed to be paid to them respectively asaforesaid together with all such costs, charges and expenses as shall or maybe occasioned by thenon payment of their every or any of their said respective legacies or sums of money or anypart thereof. Also I give and bequeath to my three grandaughters Rebecca, Elizabeth and Ann thedaughters of Robert Cannon the sum of twenty shillings a piece to be paid them out of mypersonal estate by my Executor hereinafter named within six calander months next after mydecease. Also I do make nominate and appoint the said Benjamin Pile my son sole Executor ofthis my last Will and Testament to whom I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of mygoods, chattles and personal estate whatever, after payment of my just debts and legacieshereby given to my said three grandaughters my funeral charges and the charge of proving thismy Will and all the charges and expenses incident to the due execution of the same. In witnesswhereof I the said Thomas Pile the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained intwo sheets of paper set and put my hand and seal (that is to say) my hand to the first sheet andmy hand and seal to the second and last sheet thereof the eleventh Day of December in the yearof Our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven The mark of Thomas Pile The writing contained in this and the proceeding sheet of paper wassigned and sealed by the above named Thomas Pile, the Testator and by him published anddeclared as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request havehereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in his presence and in the presence of eachother.
