Sir Marmaduke de Thwenge, Lord Kilton was born in 1225 at Kilton, Yorkshire, England. He married Lucia de Brus, daughter of Sir Peter II de Brus, Baron Skelton and Hawise de Lancaster, circa 1242; They had 9 sons (including Sir Robert; Sir Marmaduke,1st Lord Thweng; John; Gawain; & Edmund) & five daughters.2,3,4 Sir Marmaduke de Thwenge, Lord Kilton died between 1282 and 1284.4
