Petitioners: Anne, Countess of Stafford, daughter and heir of Eleanor, one of the daughters and heirs of Humphrey de Bohun, late earl of Hereford, Essex and Northampton, and constable of England
The countess states that she is heir to half of the Bohun inheritance through her mother J, the other heir being Henry V in right of his mother Mary, and that a certain accord was made between them to divide the inheritance at Westminster on 2 May 1421 except fees and advowsons held in gross. It was also agreed for the partition of the fees and advowsons in gross, the king choosing which he wanted of them. The countess requests that she be granted that she may be able to partition the fees and advowsons in Chancery, and that the treasurer and chancellor have the authority to choose those that are best for the king, and the countess have and enjoy the rest. |
