Biographical information about Eadgifu, daughter of Edward the Elder, wife of Charles the Simple, mother of Louis d'Outremer [Louis IV]. Fled to England in 923 after Charles was deposed; returned to France with Louis in 936, lost influence and retired from Louis' Court in 939, after his marriage, and retired to nunnery in Laon. Married Herbert in 951 [***It must be noted here that she did not marry Herbert Count of Vermandois but Herbert Count of Omois] |
