-I John Graye of Methewold in the County of Norff, Esquire
-To my sonne Wyllm Graye my bason and ewer of Sylver perrell gylte wayenge fowwer skore eighteen ownces v sylver spones and one gilte salt with the flower delych in the top my turned bed with the testor of blacke and tawny Damaske Embrodered my beset connet pointer one payer of my best shetes one payer of my best blankettes And my golde Ringe with Seale of Armes and I will & my mynde is that my bason and Ewer shalbe in the handesof my wife to the use of my sayde sonne Willm for the terme of hir life.
-To my sayde sonne Willyam a payer of charlys a narrbe a vestement with all that perteyneth to A priste to singe messe in and further my mynde ys that my sayde sonne Willm shall have the sayde plate and legacyes before in this my last will given hym upon condicon that he be well Ruled and ordered by the advyse of my Nevye Thomas Dereham and my sonne in lawe Francis Mundford and my Executor under written on the moste parte of them and yf not then I will the same to my sonne Thomas Graye upon like condicon and yf He will not be well Ruled as ys Above sayd then I will myn Executors shall dispose them to the use and intents of this my last will as my Executors and Supervisors shall therin thinke meate.
-To Gertrud my welbeloved wife my lease and holle terme of yeares that I have yet induringe of the Mannor of Lotell Chissingham and the holle stocke of fyve hundredth wethers goinge upon the same grownde or so manye as shalbe there at the tyme of my buryall and after the Lease and terme ended I will the sayde cattell therebe Delyvered in the woll at the feaste of Sante John Baptiste next before the terme ended to the behofe of Willm and Thomas they to be even devyded betyne them.
-My sayde welbeloved wife Gertrud shall have and enjoye for terme of hir life all my purchased lands and Tenementes wheresoever they do lye and be excepte all those lands and Tenements hereafter specified that is to saye Certeyn lands and Tenementes in Wretton Werham and Northewolde latelye purchased of Willm Stallon and parte therof to me mortgaged upon condicon of Repayment of thre skore and tenne pownds at certayne dayes as upon the writing indented made betwyne us dothe appere. And yf the sayd sommes be not repayed or anye parte therof according to the sayde writing Then I will the sayde lands and Tenementes to my sonne Willm Graye and to his heires of his bodie lawfullie begotten And for lack of such Issewe to Remayne to my sonne Thomas and to the heires of his bodie lawfullye begotten and for lack of suche Issewe to my right heires for ever… [more properties, towns]
