Thomas de Beauchamp, 12th Earl of Warwick M, #3484, b. before 16 March 1338/39, d. 8 April 1401 Last Edited=13 Nov 2021 Consanguinity Index=0.53% Thomas de Beauchamp, 12th Earl of Warwick was born before 16 March 1338/39.1 He was the son of Thomas de Beauchamp, 11th Earl of Warwick and Katherine Mortimer.1 He married Margaret Ferrers, daughter of Sir William Ferrers, 3rd Lord Ferrers (of Groby) and Margaret d'Ufford, before April 1381.1 He died on 8 April 1401.1 He was appointed Knight in 1355.1 He succeeded as the 12th Earl of Warwick [E., 1088] on 13 November 1369.1 He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Worcestershire.1 He held the office of Pantler at the King's Coronation.1 He was appointed Knight,Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1373.1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Fleet in 1377 in the towards the North.1 He held the office of Guardian of King Richard II circa February 1379/80.1 Between 1387 and 1389 he was one of the Lords Appellant who overthrew King Richard II's advisers.1 In 1397 he was arrested on a charge of high treason against King Richard II, following which his estates and honours were forfeited.1 His titles were restored on accession of King Henry IV.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2 Child of Thomas de Beauchamp, 12th Earl of Warwick and Margaret Ferrers: Richard de Beauchamp, 13th Earl of Warwick+1 b. 25 Jan 1381/82, d. 30 Apr 1439 Citations: 1.
