			| Pierre Charron, a distant ancestor living in 1481? The oldest document identifying a Charron in Meaux is the lease of a house by the  administrators of St. Christopher's church council,  among them, a certain Pierre Charron  (document  Nº  1).  This  lease  dated  March  5,  1481  (1480  old  style 11 )  identifies  the  first  Charron  in  Meaux.  A  merchant  furrier,  he  is  very  likely  the  father  (or  perhaps  the  grandfather) of Pierre Charron of the 1st generation below.  If this is so, he is an ancestor  of Pierre Charron the younger. In any event, we know nothing further about him. |
