133. WILLIAM DE MORTUO MARI of Hamme. Writ, 2 Nov. 2 Edw. II [1308]. WORCESTER. Inq. taken at Marteleye on Sunday after the Epiphany, 2 Edw. II. (Unspecified.) 30a. arable and 2a. meadow, held for life, by the demise of of Robert de Mortuo Mari, of the inheritance of the heirs of Hugh de Mortuo Mari; and a messuage and 20a. land, held of Isabel de Mortuo Mari by service of 5s. yearly. Sutton. A messuage and 1/2 virgate land, held of Robert de Sturmy by service of 5s. yearly; and 1/2 virgate land held of Robert de Cliford by service of 1lb. cummin yearly. The heirs of Hugh de Mortuo Mari are his next heirs, viz.—Joan the wife of Thomas de Bikenor, aged 18, and Margaret the wife of Geoffrey de Cornewaile, aged 14 1/2. SALOP. Inq. Monday after St. Nicholas, 2 Edw. II. Leyntworthin. 9l. 11s. 5d. rent (extent given with names of tenants), held for life, of the inheritance of the heirs of Hugh de Mortuo Mari of Richard’s Castle, without doing any service. Joan, aged 18 on the feast of St. Katherine last, and Margaret, who is under age and in the king’s wardship, daughters and heirs of Hugh de Mortuo Mari of Richard’s Castle, are next heirs of the said William.
