Will of Edward Stallon of Feltwell, yeoman; Written 13 Aug 1661, Proved 3 Oct 1661 Will Mentions: -wife, Elizabeth (executrix) -son, John -daughter, Elizabeth -grandchild, Elizabeth Fuller (under age 10) -son, Edward -son, William -grandchild, Elizabeth Stallon, dau. of my son Willm. -grandchild, Mary Stallon, dau. of my son Willm. -son, Osbert -son, Adam Will Notes: -To Elizabeth my dearly beloved wife the parlor & the Lo__ Roomes adjoyneing to it in the west end as mine house where I nowe live & the garden on the South side of myne house by the parlor windowe & the house at the end of the stable with ingresse egresse & regresse dureing the terme of her natural life & after her decease I give & bequeath them unto John my sonne & his heires for ever. -Alsoe unto Elizabeth my wife halfe the hempland which is in the close behind the barne & soe muche of my freehold lands in Feltwell as shall be worth six poundes yearly to be let which Landes my minde is that twoe men indifferently chosen by my said wife on the one parte & by my sonne John on theother parte shall sett out to the proper use of my said wife dureing the terme of her natural Life & after decease I give the said Landes to my sonne John & his heires forever. -And if my said sonne shall refuse or Delay to choose and to sett out the said Landes my minde is that Elizabeth my wife shall make choyce of whome she please to set out to her use as much freehold Landes as shall be worth six poundes -To Elizabeth my wife the Table & __ootes the cupboard the bedstead & featherbedd & bolster coverlet pillowes & Blanketts with the curtaines & all that are in the Parlor dureing her life & after her decease I give them to John my sonne & his heires for ever. -Also to Elizabeth my wife halfe of all my goodes chattels moveables toward the educacon of my younger children & payment of my debts my minde & will is that if my wife Elizabeth will keepe any cowes or Bullockes dureing her Life in the yard perteyning unto the house where in I nowe live shee providing meat for ye said Beastes & if shee will sett three horses in ther stable perteyning to the house wherein I live provideng them meat & feeding them there shee shall have libertie to doe it there without let or molestacon. -To John my sonne & his heires for ever the other parte of the house wherein I live not before bequeathed with the Barnes Stables & all other appurtenances not bequeathed. And all my Landes free & copie that I have not bequeathed or shall not bequeath in this my will I give & bequeath unto my sonne John & his heires forever halfe ofall my moveable goodes and chattels my mind is that they may be equally sett out betweene twoe indifferent men chosen by Elizabeth my wife & John my sonne. -To Elizabeth my daughter the sume of eight pounds of Lawfull English money in satisfacon for her porcon promised upon marriage to bee paid by my sonne John his Executors or Admn, upon Demand. -I give alsoe unto Elizabeth Fuller my Grandchild the sume of twentie shillings to be paid by my sonne John his Executors or … when the said Elizabeth shall come to the age of tenn yeares. -To Edward my sonne & his heires for ever all those eleaven Acres & a Rood of arable Land and pasture be the more or lesse which said Landes my father purchased of Robert Wace Esq. lyenig & being on the felds of Feltwell Meathwold Wilton & Hockwold which said Landes I hold by Coppie of the manner of Wendlings Spindvile & Duntons with there appurtances I give alsoe unto the said Edward my sonne the sume of twentie poundes of Lawfull English money to be paid unto the said Edward … by my sonne John… within the space of a yeare next after my decease & for Default… -To my sonne Willm his heires Executors or Assignes the full sume of twentie poundes of lawfull English money to bee paid by my sonne John… in satisfaccon for the porcon that I promised him on marriage within the space of one yeare next after my decease. -To my grandchilde Elizabeth Stallone Daughter of my sonne William the sume of Twentie shillings to be paide by my sonne John… when she shall come to the age of tenn yeares. -To my grandchild Mary Stallon Daughter of my sonne Willm the sume of __ current money of England to be paid by my sonne John …when she shall come to the age of tenn yeares. -To Osbert my sonne his heires Executors and Assignes the sume of fortie poundes of currant money of England to be paid by my sonne John… [payment schedule] and for default of payment… -To my sonne Adam the sum of fortie poundes of Lawfull English money to be paid by my sonne John … [payment schedule] And for default of payment … -Whereas I have given unto Elizabeth my daughter eight poundes in satisfacon for a promise made on marriage if the said sume be payd in my life tyme the said Legacy to be voyd & of none effect -And whereas I have given my sonne Willm twentie poundes in satisfacon for a promise made in marriage if the said sume be paid in my lifetime the give shalbe voyd & the Legacy not paid. -Lastly I make constitute & ordaine Elizabeth my well beloved wife to be Executrix of this my will in witnesse whereonto I sett mine hand & seale this thirteenth daye of August in the yeare of our Lord God 1661 the marke of Edward Stallon… |
