57. MAUD, LATE THE WIFE OF HUGH DE MORTUO MARI of Richards Castle. Writ, 15 Feb. 1 Edw. II [1308]. SALOP. Inq. Wednesday before Palm Sunday, 1 Edw. II. Bureford. The manor (extent given), including a moiety of the hundred of Overes, held for life of the inheritance of the said Hugh, now in the king’s hands by reason of the minority of his heirs, of the king in chief by barony, and by service of finding five armed men with five barded horses for the whole barony whenever there shall be war in Wales between the king and the prince of Wales. Wylileye in the manor of Stepelton. A messuage, 100a. land by the greater hundred, and 11d. yearly rent, acquired of a tenant by the said Maud and Hugh, to them and the heirs of the said Hugh, tenure unspecified. Joan whom Thomas de Bykenouere married, aged 15 and more, and Margaret whom Geoffrey de Cornwayle married, aged . . and more, daughters of the said Hugh are his next heirs. HEREFORD. Inq.
